Goldsmith Since 1991

Vincent Cober

With a passion for craft and an eye for detail, Vincent has been known for more than 30 years as the goldsmith who brings together craftsmanship, creativity and quality.

1987

Vincent's start as a goldsmith

Vincent Cober starts learning goldsmithing alongside his studies. The passion for craftsmanship and gemstones is born

1991

Shop opening

On Houtstraat in Oss, Cober opens its first jewellery shop. This is where the foundation is laid for the craftsmanship and personal approach that remain central today.

1996

Expansion with own workshop

With a growing customer base and increasing demand for customisation, the atelier is being expanded. This allows Cober to design, forge and set gemstones completely in-house.

2000-present

Growth and exclusivity

Cober is building an international gemstone sourcing network. Today, the house is known for exclusive wedding rings, unique jewellery and jewels.

Inspiration & conversation

Every piece of jewellery starts with a personal conversation. We listen to your wishes, ideas and stories, and translate this into an initial sketch or design proposal.

Selection of materials

After the design, we choose the right precious metals and gemstones. Here, we pay attention not only to quality and appearance, but also to origin and durability.

Crafts in our workshop

In our own workshop, your jewellery is handmade by experienced goldsmiths. With precision and passion, we forge, set and polish every part.

Quality control

Before we hand over your jewellery, it is carefully checked and finished down to the smallest detail. Only when it meets our highest standards does it leave our workshop

Do you work with fair-trade materials?

Our goldsmith works exclusively with circular gold. Circular means that we use responsible gold that does not involve unethical gold extraction from mines for our jewellery. For this, we work together with our regular Dutch partner. They have signed the “Responsible Gold Covenant’. Click here to read more about it.

We are jointly committed to an internationally responsible gold chain. The aim is that throughout the chain, from extraction to recycling, human rights, the environment and biodiversity are better respected.

How long does it take to make a piece of jewellery?

Our normal turnaround time for most orders is roughly 3 to 5 weeks but also depends on your requirements and design. Times of holidays and in the summer months the delivery time may increase somewhat. Complex designs or designs for which we do not have the required raw materials in-house may have a shorter lead time
In that case, we will first search for the necessary gemstones or other materials.
Because our gemstones can come from all over the world, this can also take a little longer as a result.

Can I have my old gold remelted?

This is certainly possible. If you bring your old gold to our shop, we will test it in your presence for authenticity and content. You will hear immediately what your old gold is still worth.

Based on this, we will sit down together for a new design or you can choose to surrender your gold at the current gold price.
Your own input is welcome and we can tell you all about the possibilities.
When you choose a new piece of jewellery, we will film the process of remelting for you so you can see what happens to your gold.

Where do our gemstones come from?

For more than 35 years, we have had an extensive network around the world with regular contacts, dealers and delvers. For our gemstone collection, we are always looking for the most beautiful stones across the entire spectrum. You will find just about every colour of gemstone in our collection. Cober is always looking for large and rare specimens. If you have a specific wish, you can submit a search request and we will keep you closely informed throughout the purchase process.
